I went to the new TJ Maxx that opened in Georgetown to see what the store was like and get a feel for the layout. When shopping at designer discount stores it’s really important to understand the general layout of the store, that way you strategically focus on the brands or departments that you like.
My favorite part of the store was “The Runway” section which is FULL of designer brands. Now, by the time I got there the store was picked over like it was Christmas eve. I went straight to the handbags section which had designers like Fendi, Bottega Venetta, Chloe, Gucci, and YSL among others. Those bags were still in the $499-$1399 range. I really loved that there were Saint Laurent bags just sitting there!
Among the racks you could see a lot of Theory, DVF, Rag & Bone, Alice & Olivia, Vince, Giorgio Armani, etc. There are some gowns, some great leather jackets that I was drooling over, and fun going out pieces. This is the section worth spending time in. Like Nordstrom and Loehman’s there are numerous denim designers and casual/contemporary brands.
Style in Your Closet Shopping Tip: According to their sales team the best time to shop is: Monday-Friday before 11 AM. Take a day off during the week and spend it having breakfast at TJ Maxx!
Today, I found a GORGE Alice & Olivia coat that I will wear to a friend’s wedding in NYC. I could not leave this piece behind.
